A detail of the bottom stern of the Hammer. Here you can see the transition of the three planes that make up the sides and bottom of the boat. The bottom plane has an edge that breaks the transition to the rocker. I'm not sure the bevel plane is helpful for wave surfing, but does add more control in Whitewater.
The dimples and hard edges make the boat look more worn more quickly (In this picture I think my boat had 3-4 days on the river - mostly class V). While the edges ding easily, they are very thick and could be filed down. Also all these edges and flat surfaces do not make boofing a sloping rock as tricky as I though in terms of tipping you one way or another.
